A specialized comparison engine for retro gaming hardware. Built with Next.js, Supabase, and Tailwind CSS, following a Swiss Industrial design philosophy.
The Concept
The retro gaming hardware market is notoriously fragmented. We needed a centralized index that didn't just list specifications, but presented them with surgical, industrial precision. This project was born from an obsession with the uncompromising aesthetic of physical technical manuals.
"A UI that feels less like a website and more like a brushed steel diagnostic instrument."
The Architecture
The entire database was structured to handle an intense volume of highly spec-dependent hardware variants. It's powered by Supabase to handle the intricate relationships between motherboard revisions, video output standards, and regional modifications without skipping a beat.
The Outcome
A brutalist, high-performance web app that loads instantly and makes exploring retro specs feel deeply modern. While it is currently archived, the architecture laid the groundwork for several subsequent projects in the studio.
